Fund Raising Project
Support and Popularize Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN) & Health Minister’s Cancer Patient Fund (HMCPF), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare
The Foundation has decided to raise fund and contribute to Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN) and Health Minister's Cancer Patient Fund (HMCPF) and planned to organize different events at various important cities of India. In this series, we propose to organize three days event to support and popularization of RAN in 2017-2018
To support the fight against Cancer and other life threatening disease Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi (RAN) has been set up by The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in 13th January 1997 as a Society.RAN has been set up to provide financial assistance to those patients who are living below poverty line and who are suffering from major life threatening diseases. This fund helps patients to receive medical treatment at any of the super speciality Hospitals/Institutes or other Government hospitals.
The financial assistance beyond 5 lakh is provided directly from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India through RAN and financial assistance less than 1 lakh is provided directly by 12 Central Government hospitals/institutes. To fight against the Cancer, a Health Minister’s Cancer Patient Fund (HMCPF) has been set up under RAN and providing financial assistance to the poor patients suffering from cancer having treatment in 27 Regional Cancer Centres (RCC).
The fund has been set up to help to save the life of poor patients but our survey and interaction with people, it has been concluded that only a small fraction of people know about such fund. As per available data, by 26-October-2015, only 37063 poor patients have been benefited far.
Secondly it has been observed that the allocated fund in RAN is very less as compare to demand from the patients. So patients get less Grant than required/estimated expenditure.
So, our Foundation has decided to raise fund and contribute to RAN and HMCPF and planned to organize different events at various important cities of India. In this series, we propose to organize three days event to support and popularization of RAN.
The foundation will achieve two objectives from this project:
- To popularize the RAN among masses
- Help in generation of more funds
